The two things I greatly dislike about this car seat is 1. the chest clip is very hard to get undone and 2. it makes the loudest pop when it goes into the base. I am still pregnant but I can imagine how that would scare a sleeping newborn.
The base does have a little hook where the baby's feet would be, it holds onto that part of the car seat. Obviously pay attention to that, you have to pull it back off of it.
The sun shade is very flimsy. It only has one (maybe two) piece of plastic on the inside causing it to hold it's shape and the back of it just falls. I will probably get some velcro like someone else did.
I personally like how long this car seat is. If you have a tiny car, this is not the car seat to get. I like it because my children are very long/tall kids. The issues I have with car seats is they outgrow it in length before weight. I think this car seat will last a little longer.
The price is why I bought it, if I had to do it all over again and had the money, I'd buy either a Chicco or a Graco. I wouldn't chose to buy this again, even though the length of it is great.
I hate this seat. I feel like I'm going to hurt my son anytime I have tried to take the carrier out with him in it. Most infant seats just lift out of the base, but this one has this hook thing at the foot of the seat that makes you just about have to turn your baby and the seat 90 degrees to get it out of the car. Putting it back in is even more of a nightmare, again you have to turn it to the proper angle. Then you have to make sure your baby doesn't move his foot under the hook while both of your hands are occupied getting his seat into the hook. There is no doubt in mind that the hook would easily break an infants foot. DO NOT GET THIS SEAT I only leave mine in the car, which defeats the purpose of having a car seat you can carry your baby in.
